Description
A creamy and delicious smoked mackerel pate – with a warm kick of horseradish. Beautiful smeared over warm toasted bread. So tasty yet so simple – takes only 5 minutes to make!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 smoked mackerel fillet (around 75g each), skin removed
- 30ml sour cream
- 30ml cream cheese
- 1 tsp finely chopped dill
- 1 tsp horseradish
- 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
- (optional) crusty bread for serving
Instructions
1. Roughly pull apart the mackerel fillet and place in a mixer/blender
2. Add all the other ingredients to the blender
3. Blend everything together until you have a fairly smooth consistency
Serve & enjoy!
Notes
- I have tried this with only sour cream, and a blend of sour cream and cream cheese and both are delicious – the cream cheese makes a milder and creamier flavour but feel free to use only sour cream if you prefer
