Spices for Fajitas

Homemade Fajita Seasoning

  • Author: caroline

Description

Simple and far more economical than buying ready-made fajita spices. This homemade fajita seasoning tastes great and adds the perfect flavour and punch to your dish. Yum!

Makes around 3 portions (based on around 1.5 tsp per portion)

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 tsp hot chilli powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Instructions

1. Mix all spices together in a bowl.

2. Store in a sealed jar until ready to use.

3. To use, sprinkle over the meat while cooking.

Notes

  1. If you don’t have any garlic powder then leave it out and add some crushed garlic to the vegetable mix when you cook the fajitas
  2. Increase the amount of chilli powder you use if you are a lover of spice!
  3. You can also use hot paprika instead of smoked paprika – just bear in mind that it will be hotter (you could reduce the chilli powder to compensate). If all you have in is sweet paprika then it will still work well, but obviously will be sweeter in taste.
